Northwestern Mutual - Chicago Golfers Swing for a Cause

Two rain delays didn't dampen the spirits of golfers and a team of volunteers at our third annual golf outing. The charitable event raised more than $40,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

We're grateful to our financial professionals who played in the tournament, our generous sponsors, and associates who planned and volunteered the day of the event.  The money raised will fund 800 hours of research into new treatments and cures for childhood cancer.


McQuade Brigade Showcases Fun and Skill

Collaboration and innovation produce winning results on a daily basis for the financial professionals at Northwestern Mutual – Chicago. But add in a friendly competition at the Annual Field Day and it’s all about winning the trophy.

Under the guidance of Kim Ritchell and Dionna Johnson, the unofficial Chief Fun Officers, the competitions included a tug of war, paper airplane making contest, basketball toss and other relays and games to challenge skills.

When the competitions concluded, it was Dionna Johnson, Recruiter, and Financial Advisors and Representatives Dario Bolanos, Tommy Parks, Jason Conger and Geoff McCammon that won the coveted trophy.


Northwestern Mutual – Chicago Connects Chicago Semester Students with Real Work Experience

Located in the hub of Chicago’s business district, Northwestern Mutual – Chicago is a prime workplace for students participating in the Chicago Semester internship. Add in a legacy of leadership that dates to 1872 and a high-performance corporate culture that focuses on personal and professional growth and students have the ultimate urban, professional work experience.

This year Sophia Randall, a senior at Judson University and David De Haan, a senior at Northwestern College interned with Jeannette Miyazono and Jenny Eason in our administration and operations departments. Since 2011, Northwestern Mutual – Chicago has partnered with Chicago Semester.

Helping Hands Make Care Packages for Hospitalized Kids

There were a lot of helping hands, both big and small when Northwestern Mutual – Chicago transformed its office into a production line assembling goodie bags for hospitalized children. Volunteers packed more than 70 bags that were delivered to the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital.

The volunteers also made personalized cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids and raised funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.


Northwestern Mutual - Chicago Launches Leadership Development Program

To build on our history of innovation and excellence, we’re excited to launch 1872, a leadership development program for emerging advisors.  While most programs focus on developing management skills, 1872 will hone in on skills designed to help participants lead themselves, lead a team and lead others.  Read more in this Chicago Tribune story.





Northwestern Mutual - Chicago Earns National Recognition with Financial Security Award

When it comes to leading, Northwestern Mutual-Chicago’s Client Relations Department did it again. The team was awarded the national Northwestern Mutual Financial Security Award for the second year in the row.  The award recognizes the top-performing client relations department among the more than 330 Northwestern Mutual offices nationwide.



Honoring the Past while Shaping the Future of Fine Arts

Northwestern Mutual was a proud sponsor of the Harlem Fine Arts Show in Chicago. Toby Eng, District Director, Dionna Johnson, Recruiter and Andrew Higney, Chief Development Officer were among the Northwestern Mutual - Chicago financial professionals who attended the art show in December 2016. The Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) is the largest traveling African Diasporic art show in the United States.



Chicago Tribune Names Northwestern Mutual - Chicago a Top Workplace

A strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there and the feeling that everyone is in it together, all contributed to Northwestern Mutual – Chicago being named a Chicago Tribune  Top Workplace for 2016. In its engagement survey of more than 245 companies in the Chicago area Workplace Dynamics, a workplace survey and improvement specialist, measured aspects of the workplace including alignment, connection and purpose.

Congratulations to our financial advisors who achieved membership into the prestigious Northwestern Mutual Forum.  Tom Canale, Christina Collins, Mike D’ Aquila, Jerry FaigenMike Lindberg, Chad McQuadeTom Rossi, Rajer Shah, Ben Voigt, Adam Waitzman and Rich Woo were recognized for their commitment to helping clients plan for and achieve financial security.

NM-Chicago leads Northwestern Mutual offices nationwide with Forum members. Forum is an exclusive achievement, representing the top tier of Northwestern Mutual financial advisors. 

Ronald McDonald House Charities Receives $25,000 Grant

Ronald McDonald House
A combination of volunteerism, fundraising, brand and cause awareness led to Northwestern Mutual - Chicago being recognized by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation with the 2016 Childhood Cancer Impact Award. In honor of the recognition, a $25,000 donation was made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.




Dionna Johnson
Director of Recruitment and Selection

In her new leadership role, Dionna will continue to attract and select motivated, passionate individuals looking for a career that is rewarding personally and professionally.  At the same time, she will further develop partnerships with professional organizations in the Chicago-area while also providing consultation within the firm on diversity and inclusion resources.

She joined the firm in 2015 as a recruiter.


Kevin Reddington
College Unit Captain and Financial Advisor

Kevin takes on a leadership role in the Oak Brook office as a College Unit Captain.  He will assist in the training, development and mentoring of college financial representatives.

Jeannie Andresen
Director of Internship Development

Jeannie is responsible for leading the internship and post-college career development program. She started her career journey in 2011 as a college financial representative in the program she now leads.

Richard A. Green
College Unit Captain and Financial Advisor

Appointed a College Unit Captain in 2017, Richie takes on a leadership role and will assist in the training, development and mentoring of college financial representatives in the Rosemont office. 

Corey Quaglia
College Unit Director and Financial Advisor

As a College Unit Director, Corey coaches and leads a team of college financial representatives who are participating in the firm’s nationally top-rated internship program.

 Jacqueline Coleman
Director of Network Office Supervision

Opportunities for training and development and a personal commitment to professional growth has elevated Jacqui to DNOS. In this role, she partners with our financial professionals to ensure compliance with company and industry laws and regulations.

Jeannette Miyazono
Director of Client Relations

Jeannette joined the firm as a Client Relations Coordinator in 2010 rising to her current position in 2017. She has consistently led the department to one of the top performing Northwestern Mutual offices nationwide
